The public consultation on four proposals to identify substances of very high concern (SVHC) has been launched. One of them is Dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP) which was proposed by Sweden according to following reasons: toxic for reproduction (Article 57 c), Equivalent level of concern having probable serious effects to human health and the environment (Article 57 f).

DCHP is used in production of plastisol, PVC, rubber and plastics. The range of applications also includes the use as phlegmatizer and dispersing agent for formulations of organic peroxides. DCHP has been previously proposed for identification of SVHC by Sweden, however it was withdrawn from the SVHC process in 2015.

All interested parties are invited to submit their comments on DCHP again in this new SVHC process. The DCHP proposal is the same as that submitted previously.

Public consultations will end on 14 April 2016 (24:00 Helsinki time).
