European Commission approves use of recycled PVC which contains DEHP

April 20, 2015 the European Commission has approved a decision on the authorization of formulation of the recovered soft PVC containing DEHP.

The decision, which is applied to three enterprises – Vinyloop Ferrara, Stena Recycling and Plastic Planet – was considered positively and makes possible the processing the phthalate DEHP to products made of soft PVC, like: flooring and footwear. Majority of Member States supported the draft decision by which Vinyloop Ferrara, Stena Recycling and Plastic Planet were granted authorization till February 21, 2019.

The final official decision is not available yet and must be published in the Official Journal of the European Commission before the entry into force.
