Trends, innovations and invaluable networking at the jubilee edition of K 2022 fair


The eight-day K-Fair, which is the world’s flagship event for the plastics and rubber industry, was held in Düsseldorf and couldn’t be missed by its representatives. For Segment Oxoplast™, this was the seventh trade fair and yet another opportunity to hold discussions about plasticizers, OXO alcohols and promising cooperation prospects.

Held once every three years, K Fair is the undisputed number 1 event dedicated to the plastics and rubber industry. This year, it captured the attention of more than 3,000 exhibitors and 176,000 trade visitors from all corners of the world. Poland is one of the heavily represented countries at the fair, and being part of Grupa Azoty, Segment Oxoplast™ has been contributing to this result for more than two decades.


7th K Fair for Segment Oxoplast™


For the seventh time, Segment Oxoplast™ delegates enjoyed the opportunity to present our range of activities to stakeholders with an interest in current solutions and the future of the plastics industry. During the fair, the joint booth of Grupa Azoty showcased Segment Oxoplast’s™ offer, in particular the new line of Oxofine™ speciality plasticizers. Our signature general-purpose plasticizer, Oxoviflex™ also enjoyed great popularity.


K Fair mirrors the current situation in the industry, recognising its ongoing development and the directions in which it is heading. During this year’s event, apart from the strict product area, many of the talks centred around climate issues and sustainability measures.


The greatest value of the trade fair is the opportunity to interact – to network, talk ‘face to face’ and exchange experiences with our suppliers, customers, and business partners. This is particularly relevant in the current highly unpredictable and challenging times.


Plastics made for climate protection


This year’s trade fair featured a follow-up discussion on the closed loop economy, which is one of the key developments in the plastics industry. Present-day manufacturers attach great importance to environmental issues, conducting their business in an increasingly conscious and responsible manner.
For sustainable growth, it is necessary to embrace innovative technological and material solutions. The digitalisation of company operations in various areas is also an indispensable part of a modern approach, which was the theme of discussions throughout the event.


Grupa Azoty, whose trade fair presentation referred to the Strategy 2021-2030 and the key project ” Green Azoty” based on three pillars – green products, green organisation, green technologies, was in line with the above trends. By adopting that strategy, Grupa Azoty, including Segment Oxoplast™ , has taken on commitments covering the areas of the environment and social security. The ongoing projects will be supported by the group’s progressive climate and energy transformation. Importantly, pro-environmental attitudes will not be confined solely to the organisation’s activities, as they will also include e.g. the careful selection of raw material suppliers.

This year, K Fair marks its 70th anniversary, maintaining its leadership role as a networking platform for the plastics and rubber industry. As always, the event was filled to the brim with industry meetings and outstanding trade fair speeches. There was also a special show – entitled “Plastics shape the future”, which, in a unique way, demonstrated the significance of plastics for sustainability and their potential impact on our future. This theme will certainly be a relevant consideration at the next K-fair scheduled for 8-15 October 2025 in Düsseldorf, featuring Grupa Azoty and the Segment Oxoplast™.
